What’s «vibro-acoustic comfort» in todays’ vehicles? STS wants to create a solution for you and serve as a partner in dealing with that challenging question.
Sounds and vibrations in a vehicle are at the same time «information» and things to keep as low as possible: engine noise is not only pleasant to be heard in sporty cars, but gives the driver the perception of the vehicles performance. In a working environment context it has in any case to be softened.
The vibro-acoustic design is no more an added value, but plays a significant role in the selection of the vehicle by the final customer.
STS’ experience in the field of acoustics dates from decades ago and is made of a balanced combination of simulations and measurements: thanks to our expertise and acoustic devices, we can be your partner in optimising the vibro-acoustic performances of your vehicles. We can design together a single acoustic component in order to optimise its performances not only as taken alone, but in the vehicle context. We do it by means of virtual models as well as of measurements on real parts and vehicles

ACOUSTIC SIMULATION IN THE EARLY STAGES

When the component is still an idea and you ask STS for quotation, we carry out specific acoustic simulations to forecast the performances and verify achievability of target. When it looks promising, we suggest you the optimal solution for your needs.

STS ACOUSTIC LAB ALLOWS VALIDATION OF REAL WORLD PARTS

As soon as the real component is manufactured, in the prototypical phase as well as in the final stage, its acoustic performances are measured in the STS Acoustic Lab. This step is part of the autoqualification process and at the same time constitutes a final validation of the virtual design.

In our hemi-anechoic room, we can support the customer in the validation of the acoustic component also in the vehicle context, by means of measurements on the roller bench or in static conditions.

MATERIALS DATABASE RUNNING IN BATCH

Why are our simulations so reliable? The specific acoustic parameters, which are the primary stones of the simulations, are measured and continuously updated in our acoustic Lab.
